| Abstract |
Based on research findings that examined the impact of financial aid on college choice, this session discusses how the expectations of different types of financial aid affect the student college choice process from application through enrolment in a U.S. public institution. The dataset used for the analysis includes students who sent their ACT scores to the University of Iowa for admission consideration in the academic years 1997-1998 through 2001-2002. The session will focus on how students from different race and income groups respond differentially to aid packages in their application and enrolment decisions depending on their levels of aid expectations. |
