Conference Title G4 - Case Studies in Non-Standard Graduate Admissions
Moderator/Presenter Presenter: Heather Kelly, Director of Student Services, School of Graduate Studies, University of Toronto
Moderator: Elena Arena, Lakehead University
Abstract

Graduate schools are increasingly attracting domestic and international applicants from a wide array of backgrounds with increasingly diverse credentials, such as applied community college degrees, Bologna compliant degrees and vocational qualifications. The purpose of the session is to provide graduate admissions professionals with “lessons learned” from specific case studies that may help them in emulating successful polices—or avoiding problematic ones—to determine the admissibility of non-standard applicants to graduate degree programs . Administrators who are responsible for graduate admissions will find this session particularly helpful.
